Imagine a former silk weaving factory, Building No. 5, now reborn as a versatile theater, seamlessly blending traditional Suzhou-style performances with modern conference spaces. Inspired by the life of Tang Bohu, a renowned historical figure, the architects aimed for more than just preserving the building's historical depth. They infused new artistic life into the structure, creating a unique and captivating space.
Chief Architect YU Ting, along with Project Architect SUN Liran and their talented team, including PAN Dali, XIONG Jiaxing, and Vi CHEN, collaborated with lighting consultants Chloe ZHANG and WEI Shiyu, as well as construction experts from Dazhou Design & Consulting Group and Jiangsu Jinshengshui Construction. The client, Suzhou DoBe Taohuawu Cultural Tourism Industry Development Co., Ltd., envisioned a space that would honor the site's history while embracing modern functionality.
