The Chongqing Luxerivers Café, designed by Wide Horizon + Epiphany Architects, is a captivating coffee shop nestled in the heart of Chongqing, China. This architectural masterpiece, spanning 200 square meters, seamlessly blends urban infrastructure, natural geography, and public life. The café's design is a testament to the city's unique topography, where mountains and water intertwine, creating a vibrant urban landscape. The architects' approach is both light and restrained, ensuring the space feels both modern and in harmony with its surroundings.
The café's location at the convergence of elevated roads, steep terrain, and waterfronts is a key design consideration. By responding to these relationships, the architects have created a small yet impactful architectural insertion. The project gallery showcases the café's interior and exterior, highlighting the thoughtful use of space and materials. The design team, led by Zhuoxin Fang, includes Qianqian Xu, Xiujing Yin, Buwei Wu, and Yuxuan Zhang, with engineering support from UDG and landscape architecture by WTD.
