Sizewell C Construction Causes Weekend Road Closures on the A12 in Suffolk
The A12 in Suffolk will be closed over the weekend for essential improvement work related to the construction of the Sizewell C nuclear power station. This closure will impact a small section of the road south of the A1094 junction for Aldeburgh at Friday Street, starting at 8:00 PM GMT on Friday and reopening at 5:00 AM on Monday.

This route will guide drivers through major A-roads to avoid congestion on rural routes, but it may add nearly 100 miles to their journeys. The work will include drainage improvements, kerb installation, and tarmacking to support the construction of a new roundabout.
The planned diversion route suggests drivers take the A146, A143, and A14. Sizewell C apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure, acknowledging that further work will also take place on the A12 northbound carriageway just north of the Friday Street junction over three weeks, running overnight from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
