connection you expect me and you wait i go to meet you and i am drawn in faint smudges on a dull canvas as gloomy paths cross an evening lawn the tight springs of the night coil and a thrumming drone slowly grows the sharp air spikes and prickles while shadowed shapes ebb and time flows our lives cross like string and bow divided by the moment of greeting and we will be changed and charged and enlarged by the shock of meeting through the long wasteland of memory against the bright pain of the new day we will remain cradled in a brief glimpse a new path, an old life, a new way... ray cologon january 2003
